Quarantine Chronicles: Virtual Beauty Series
The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging to say the least. While it has caused much devastation, I do appreciate the innovation it has demanded of us. I realized early on that I would need to strive for balance with my home-work life and fight to make my self-care a priority. As previously shared in my momcation blog, I see self-care as an individual process of how I take care of my whole self – mind, body, and spirit. I took the opportunity to complete a virtual beauty series offered by my aesthetician, Sandra, at Solitude Beauty and Wellness. We met virtually 4 times – I made it a standing Friday appointment. Yay to having a self care schedule!
Inner Beauty Awakening
The Inner Beauty Awakening series equipped me with the necessary tools to be more proactive with my wellness including products (facial balm, hydrating toner, and the prettiest facial roller), in-depth review and modeling of techniques covered, and affirmations. My twice weekly facials have been elevated with actual technique! I no longer have to rather I get to wash my face and pamper it. It is true what Sandra said, “I will love how I look and more importantly how I feel.”
Solitude Beauty and Wellness
I admire so many things about Sandra. First of all, she is such a sincere and loving human being. She is a believer and practitioner of slow beauty, mindful nourishment of your skin and spirit. She gives recommendations based on ingredients and not brands. I have no issues with receiving brand recommendations, but I enjoy the education behind learning about ingredients. She has retail items that I purchase from because she is a true skin care aficionado and mainly supports other small businesses, women owned businesses, and black owned businesses. Y’all, her hands are blessed! While I did not get to experience this first hand with our virtual beauty series, I have been able to improve my skincare routine and add more care and love to the process thus improving my daily experience at home.
As the governor of Georgia reopened the state, you may want to add a facial or one of the other services she offers to your schedule in the upcoming months. If you are not quite ready to venture out or you live a ways away, give a virtual beauty series with Sandra at Solitude Beauty and Wellness a try!
